PSA: Operation Supply Drop's '8-Bit Salute' This Weekend

May 16, 2014 - GamePolitics Staff

Military-focused video game charity Operation Supply Drop will host its annual "8-Bit Salute" charity gaming marathon event this weekend (May 17-18). Donations raised during this year's charity event will fund video game care packages to U.S. military personal deployed in combat zones such as Afghanistan and those recovering in military hospitals.

In April the charity announced that Twitch will promote the marathon before and during the event and encourage their top broadcasters to participate. Twitch broadcaster “Trick2g” has already pledged his support. Other key partners (providing donations) include developer Naughty Dog and gaming-headset maker ASTRO Gaming. They will also form teams to participate in the event.

So far the charity has generated over $65,000 in pledges, but their goal is a lot loftier than that so if you want to help hit the link below.
