Two free games a month from Xbox Live? Sony is upping the ante by announcing that, starting in July, PS Plus subscribers (divided up amongst PS3, PS4, and PS Vita) will get two titles per platform on the first Tuesday of each month in North America and the first Wednesday every month in Europe. The previous month's titles will expire on that same day, Sony announced Thursday.
New titles for US subscribers in June are Trine 2 and Pixeljunk Shooter Ultimate for PS4, NBA 2K14 and Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time (with PS Vita Cross-Buy) for PS3, and Terraria and Mutant Mudds Deluxe for PS Vita.
European PC Plus subscribers will receive Trine 2 and Pixeljunk Shooter Ultimate for PS4, NBA 2K14 and Lone Survivor for PS3, and Dragon's Crown and Surge Deluxe for PS Vita in June.
Sony also noted that several Instant Game Collection titles that have been on the service for quite a while will be phased out in coming weeks. Users who have activated the titles will still receive unlimited access as long as they remain a PS Plus subscriber.
Earlier in the month Sony revealed that half of PS4 owners are PS Plus subscribers. Obviously the company is looking at new ways to make that number even more impressive in the year ahead.
