PlayStation TV Now Available In North America

The PlayStation TV micro console from Sony is available at North American retailers in several packages today. The micro console from Sony comes in two flavors: a $99.99 standalone system (minus a memory card and controller), or a $139.99 bundle that includes a wireless DualShock 3 controller, 8GB memory card, and The Lego Movie Videogame.

In Europe (launching November 14), PS TV will retail for around £84.99/€99.99 and will include vouchers for Worms Revolution Extreme, Velocity Ultra and OlliOlli. Controllers and memory cards will have to be purchased separately.

DriveClub Online Features Getting Turned Back On Soon

Evolution Studios says that it may be able to turn on some of the features that are currently disabled in DriveClub. Last night on its Facebook fan page the studio said that continual upgrades to the servers are making performance better for players.

"Continual upgrades to the DriveClub servers are building a steady increase in performance, meaning that we're getting more and more players connected," the studio wrote on Facebook.

Report: Jefferson Parish Men Steal Credit Cards, Buy Video Games

Jefferson Parish (the greater New Orleans, Louisiana) authorities are searching for two men who held a Woodmere resident at gunpoint and stole that person's debit and credit cards. The two young men (pictured, left) were later captured on surveillance cameras trying to buy games at a local video game store, according to authorities.

Michael Pachter Predicts Retail Victory for Xbox One in September

According to Wedbush Morgan analyst Michael Pachter, the Xbox One outsold the PS4 at retail during the month of September. According to GamesBeat, the outspoken analyst estimates that Microsoft sold 325,000 new Xbox Ones at U.S. retail last month, while Sony sold 250,000 PS4s.

If Pachter's estimates hold up (retail numbers for the month of September will be released on Thursday), September will be the very first month since launch that the Xbox One has beaten the PS4 at retail.

Unity CTO Denies Sale Rumors

Despite reports that popular game development suite Unity is up for sale, the company says that it currently has no plans on losing its independence.

"We have no plan to sell Unity," said co-founder and CTO Joachim Ante in a new post on the official Unity forums.

Ante's response relates to a rumor that first surfaced on CNET last week.

Easton George Woodhead is facing a murder charge for repeatedly stabbing Morgan Wayne "Mousey" Perry at an encampment of homeless people living on the banks of Melbourne's Yarra River.

Over One Million People Sign Up For Windows 10 Technical Preview

Microsoft claims that over a million people have signed up for the Windows Insider program. The Windows Insider program gives those who sign up for access to the Windows 10 Technical Preview.

Microsoft VP Joe Belfiore made the announcement in a blog post today, saying, "That equates to a lot of people using the Windows 10 Technical Preview and sending us feedback. How much feedback? Over 200,000 pieces of user-initiated feedback have been submitted to us via the Windows Feedback app from Windows Insiders like you."

Finland PM Blames Apple for Country's Economic Decline

Association of Flight Attendants Sues FAA Over Lifting Electronic Device Ban on Flights

According to Time's Techland, flight attendants are suing to reinstitute a ban on using electronics during flights. The Association of Flight Attendants-CWA, the largest union representing flight attendants in the United States, filed a lawsuit against the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) on Friday, saying that the federal agency should have upheld a ban on the use of smartphones and tablets during takeoff and landing. Life in the 'Fast Lane': Netflix Performance Improves on Verizon FiOS in September

Netflix has released its Speed Index for September, showing that a paid prioritization deal with Verizon is finally paying off for customers. In September, Verizon FiOS topped all other major ISPs in Netflix performance with an average stream rate of 3.17Mbps. In August, Netflix streamed at an average of 2.41Mbps on Verizon FiOS;in July it was at 1.61Mbps; and in June, 1.58Mbps.

Netflix performance on Verizon DSL has improved slightly, hitting an average speed of 1.68Mbps in September.
