The NCAA appealed a federal judge's injunction in the case involving former UCLA basketball star Ed O'Bannon, which prohibiting it from enforcing rules against student-athletes being paid for the use of their names, images and likenesses. The appeal was filed in the 9th Circuit court late Wednesday, and was not a great surprise to anyone following the case - the NCAA announced its intention to appeal after Wilken's ruling was released on Aug. 8.

A Washington woman has filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for Seattle against Big Fish Games. The lawsuit alleges that the causal game publisher is tricking customers into signing up for monthly payments on game subscriptions. Carolyn Carnahan, who has filed on behalf of herself and other possible class members, is accusing the publisher of enrolling her and other customers in a membership program without notifying the consumer in an obvious way first.

In a joint announcement Apple and Samsung have agreed to halt all legal cases against each other outside the United States. Suspended California state senator Leland Yee (D-San Francisco) pled "not guilty" to Racketeering charges in Federal Court today. After the proceedings Yee had no comment for the throng of media waiting for him outside the court house.

A federal grand jury has added a racketeering charge to suspended California State Senator (D- San Francisco) Leland Yee's list of charges which includes gun-trafficking, corruption, and other felony counts.
