After a lengthy wait, PS Vita owners will finally be able to play Mojang's popular world crafting game Minecraft next week. Sony announced via the PlayStation Blog that the PS Vita Edition of Minecraft will be coming to the Playstation store next week.

Minecraft PS Vita Edition will be available via the PlayStation Store on Oct. 14 for only $19.99, while the retail version will be released on Nov. 11.

Nintendo made a few Super Smash Bros.-related announcements this morning including the fact that the Nintendo 3DS version of the game has sold more than 2.8 million units worldwide - mostly attributed to sales of the game in North America, Europe, and Australia. Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS launched on Sept. 13 in Japan, Oct. 3 in the North America and Europe, and Oct. 4 in Australia.

The Pokémon Company International announced several new deals with European licensees. Ten new deals have been confirmed with players as diverse as Arguydal (a food and drink company), footwear maker Aventure Diffusion, candy maker Bon Bon Buddies: Confections, school supplies companies Cartorama and Vadobag, apparel company Fashion UK, poster maker GB eye, video games accessories companies HORI and RDS Industries, and board game maker Winning movies.

No petition required for this game! Some good news for PC gamers wanting to play the latest Metal Gear Solid game from Konami: it's coming to Steam on December 18th. Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes will come to the PC with 4K support, and will feature an "increase in the number of simultaneous light sources, the number of models that can be displayed on-screen, and increased shadow resolution," according to Konami.

Mojang will deliver a keynote address at the Brand Licensing Europe 2014 on Wednesday October 8th, event organizer Advanstar announced today. The presentation, "Minecraft: the rise of a world-class game and brand," will be presented by Mojang COO Vu Bu. The keynote is part of the Licensing Academy program of talks and seminars which are held during BLE 2014. They are free to attend and the full program can be found at www.brandlicensing.eu as well.

GungHo Online Entertainment's popular mobile game continues to hit major milestones. According to an announcement from the company today, Puzzle & Dragons was downloaded five million times in North America last week (September 16). Puzzle & Dragons is currently available on Kindle Fire, Android devices, and iOS.

After seven years of hush hush development, Blizzard has revealed that its super secret MMO project Titan is officially canceled.

"We didn't find the fun," Blizzard co-founder and CEO Mike Morhaime told Polygon in an interview. "We didn't find the passion. We talked about how we put it through a reevaluation period, and actually, what we reevaluated is whether that's the game we really wanted to be making. The answer is no."

Blizzard will do a major Heroes of the Storm account wipe prior to its multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) game entering the final phase of "technical alpha," according to Eurogamer.

Apparently Destiny's release in the UK helped increase sales of Sony's PS4 console in the region dramatically. PS4 sales rose by a phenomenal 300 percent week-on-week during the launch of Destiny, according to MCV - citing a source with access to unreleased Chart-Track data.

Activision announced today that, of the $500 million in Destiny copies it shipped to retail (announced last week), an estimated $325 million worth of product has been sold through to consumers. The sales data, which is as clear as a murky swamp, comes from an amalgamation of data from UK's Chart-Track, retail customer sell-through data, first parties and internal estimates from Activision Blizzard.

On Monday night's episode of Conan on TBS, Conan O'Brien talked about Microsoft acquiring Mojang and Minecraft for $2.5 billion. And while he didn't mention Markus "Notch" Persson (who made an estimated $1.75 billion off the deal before taxes and other considerations) by name, he introduced the one minute animated clip as "checking in with the creator of Minecraft" to see what he is up to now that the deal has been announced.

The uncensored PC version of Left 4 Dead 2 is finally available to consumers in Australia via Steam today (thanks Blue's News). The uncensored version of Valve's co-op zombie survival shooter sequel now carries an R18+ rating and is for sale - for a limited time - for 75 percent off its normal asking price.

Despite some early rumors making claims that it was happening, Monster Hunter 4 is not coming to the Wii U, according to a VG247 report.

"It's a misprint," said Capcom community rep. Yuri Arauj. "We’re working on a proper message to diffuse this, so we should have something more public and official out soon."

Microsoft announced this morning that it has acquired Minecraft and Scrolls maker Mojang for $2.5 billion. The deal was rumored to be in the works last week. While Microsoft will acquire the Swedish company and all of its IP including Minecraft on multiple mobile, PC, and console platforms, it will not get access to one important commodity: Notch.

Activision says that Bungie's Destiny has earned more than $500 million in revenue since the game launched on Tuesday. That figure, according to Activision, comes from retailers buying the game, and "business from first parties." Activision did not disclose any actual sales numbers, nor did it say if sales were related to digital or retail sales, or the PS4 White Destiny bundle deal it has with Sony.

A Bloomberg report citing three individuals with knowledge of the deal, claims that Microsoft is in talks with Marcus Persson to buy Minecraft maker Mojang AB for an estimated $2 billion.

Bungie community manager David "Deej" Dague says that, because Destiny isn't your typical shooter, the community shouldn't expect to see many launch day reviews for the game - and if they do they might not be able to properly represent the scope of the game. Destiny servers went live this morning and much of the press playing the game to evaluate it have only had enough time to play the game for a few hours.

With Minecraft finally hitting Xbox One today and PlayStation 4 yesterday, we thought it would be a good idea to post a video and a link explaining how PS3 and Xbox 360 users of the game can upgrade over to the game's next-generation counterparts.

Blizzard has opened up sales for virtual tickets to BlizzCon. Those who can't attend this year's two-day celebration of all things Blizzard - World of Warcraft, Warcraft, Starcraft, Hearthstone,  Diablo, and more - can be a part of the event from the comfort of their homes.

Rovio CEO Mikael Hed has announced plans to leave the company in January 2015, the Wall Street Journal reports. He will reportedly be replaced by Pekka Rantala, a former Nokia executive who joined the company in the early part of this year.

The next generation versions of Mojang's popular world building game Minecraft are finally launching this week in the U.S., UK, and Europe. The first version of the game to be released is for the PlayStation 4 - after the game failed the certification process last month. Tomorrow the Xbox One version of the game will be released. Both are digital downloads, with retail releases promised at a later date to be determined.

There will be no Minecon fan gathering this year, according to Mojang. Mojang COO Vu Bui announced on the company blog that it will skip its 2014 event of the Minecraft-themed convention, with the next Minecon tentatively scheduled for sometime in 2015.

"While we don't have a set date for the next MINECON just yet, I wanted to let everyone know that it won't be until some time in 2015. I'm shooting to have it in the spring in London," Bui wrote before cautioning that even the 2015 event was not set in stone or a guarantee at this point.

Japanese game developer GungHo Entertainment has sold its stake in Supercell to its own parent company, SoftBank. GII reports that the Puzzle & Dragons developer sold its holdings in the Finnish studio because it wanted to focus more on emerging markets such as "China, Southeast Asia, and South America."

The second game from Flappy Bird creator Dong Nguyen is called "Swing Copters," and will be released later this week. Nguyen removed Flappy Birds from the Apple app store and Google Play earlier this year over personal concerns that his game was "too addictive." He recently re-released the game on Amazon's Fire TV device. Nguyen also received a lot of unwanted attention from the media in his home country of Vietnam, which scared him and his family.

Riot Games' head of EU eSports Jason Yeh tells Polygon that it is not interested in matching the massive prize pool for its League of Legends pro-gaming competitions that Valve offered with Dota 2's The International.

Ubisoft is attempting to assure fans that the recently revealed micro-transactions in Assassin's Creed: Unity will not change the core gameplay experience. While all the details on these micro-transactions have yet to be revealed, OXM reports that players will be able to pay real money to "hack" items and unlocks instead of earning them by progressing through the game.

Despite what was said at Microsoft's Gamescom Xbox briefing yesterday, and by Crystal Dynamics and Square Enix executives following the event, Rise of the Tomb Raider isn't an exclusive in the sense that it will never ever appear on any other platforms. According to what Microsoft's Phil Spencer tells Eurogamer, the game's exclusivity has an expiration date.

Electronic Arts will not be releasing a public demo for Madden 15; instead it will focus on offering giving subscribers of EA Access the full game five days before it releases. EA Access is now out of beta and available on Xbox One. EA Access is available only on Microsoft's Xbox One for $4.99 per month or $29.99 per year.

A Madden 15 demo will not be made available on Xbox One or any other platform, much to the chagrin of consumers.

Vietnam-based indie developer Dong Nguyen's popular mobile title, Flappy Birds, has returned with a new title, but it is only available via the Amazon Fire TV set-top box/micro console. While the core gameplay of the game - flying a goofy bird through pipes and ghosts - remains intact, the game does offer some new features such as multiplayer, Person vs Person mode, more obstacles, and (apparently) more challenging gameplay. The game supports the Amazon Fire TV remote and the compatible controller.

Koch Media and its publishing label Deep Silver announced that they have acquired the Homefront brand and all related assets from Crytek. The deal encompasses all things Homefront-related including the latest game in the series that was being developed by Crytek UK - Homefront: The Revolution. The game will continue to be developed in the newly formed Nottingham-based Deep Silver Dambuster Studios.
