A new adventure book for children promises to teach them how to code using the Ruby programming language.
Published by No Starch Press, Ruby Wizardry is the creation of New Yorker-published poet, professional programmer, and former Codecademy content architect Eric Weinstein. The book (which retails for $29.99) follows the adventures of young heroes Ruben and Scarlet, as they learn programming skills.
The book promises to teach the following (according to No Starch Press):

A national press tour for the Fourth Edition of Joel D. Joseph's book chronicling (what he believes) are the worst decisions made by the United States Supreme Court in recent years is about to get underway. The book was published by Imprint Books in December of last year and was recently updated with new material.
Sony Pictures has purchased the film rights to "Console Wars," a book chronicling the war between Nintendo and Sega in the 1990's. Seth Rogen (Knocked Up, Pineapple Express) has apparently signed on to write and direct a film based on the book. He will be joined by his long-time writing partner Evan Goldberg as well, according to Book Trade.
Harvey Smith's book, "Big Jack is Dead," has been honored as one of the Best Indie Books of 2013 (in the general fiction category) by renowned book review service Kirkus today. Book publisher Seven Stories Press announced today that it will publish the English language version of the book about independent game Minecraft and its creator Markus 'Notch' Persson at the end of this year. The book is called "Minecraft; The Unlikely Tale of Markus "Notch" Persson and the Game that Changed Everything, and was written by Swedish journalists Linus Larsson and Daniel Goldberg, with the English translation being handled by Jennifer Hawkins.

Flagler College (St. Augustine, Florida) assistant professor of communication Matthew Wysocki helped make a new book about control in video games a reality. Besides co-authoring a chapter on the subject and writing the introduction in "Ctrl-Alt-Play: Essays on Control in Video Gaming," Wysocki edited the 16 essays that make of the body of the work. More importantly the book was basically his idea. The book came about because he saw that many of his colleagues were working on similar projects concerning video game control.
