IndieCade, the international festival of independent games, will bring more than 30 independently developed games for this year’s IndieCade Showcase @ E3. The 2014 IndieCade Showcase @ E3 is presented in collaboration with the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) and will be located in South Hall, Booth #2835. Each game selected for the E3 Showcase was curated from submissions for this Fall’s IndieCade Festival, to be held in downtown Culver City, CA October 9-12. The E3 lineup serves as a preview of what’s to come at the larger fall IndieCade event.
The Entertainment Software Association has announced the five finalists for the E3 College Game Competition, a contest that recognizes the best college-level talent in game development. Finalists schools include Lawrence Technology University, Savannah College of Art and Design, the University of Denver, the University of Texas at Austin, and the University of Utah.
Ubisoft is offering Uplay users all-expenses-paid trips to E3 in Los Angeles by becoming ambassadors for its (often mandatory) games platform Uplay. Ubisoft announced that 12 winning fans will "receive the VIP treatment" with paid travel, access to the E3 show floor, a ticket to the Ubisoft press conference and exclusive meetings with Ubisoft's development teams. One thousand fans will also be given an invitation to "the Uplay lounge", a pop-up event held near the Los Angeles Convention Center during E3.
Game streaming service Twitch has inked a three year deal to serve as the official live streaming partner of the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3). The partnership with the tradeshow's owner, Entertainment Software Association (ESA) begins with E3 2014, which takes place in Los Angeles June 10 - 12 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
