Morgan Spurlock, best known as the creator of the documentary "Super Size Me," will keynote the Entertainment Merchants Association’s (EMA) fifth annual Digital Media Pipeline, on Sept. 24 at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles.

Digital Media Pipeline is a one-day business-to-business conference for digital retailers and distributors, content producers, content aggregators, service providers, and digital technology companies. This year's event marks the first time that digital video game distribution and retailing will be included.

The 2013 Boston Festival of Indie Games announced that it will present a night of video game and chiptune music from some of the world's most exciting performers in Boston, Ma. The one-day event, Boston Plays Indies, is being sponsored by music game developer Harmonix and BostonFIG.

The event is set to take place Aug. 1 -3 in San Francisco. The Joan Ganz Cooney Center at Sesame Workshop and E-Line Media today revealed the names of 16 middle school and high school students as the winners of the 2013 National STEM Video Game Challenge. The competition was designed to motivate interest in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) among students in grades 5-12 using video games as the creative medium of choice. The top original video games and game design concepts were chosen from 14 categories and nearly 4000 entries.

The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences today revealed D.I.C.E. Europe, a two-day event set for September in the UK. The event will join the AIAS' flagship D.I.C.E. Summit held annually in Las Vegas. The first D.I.C.E. Europe Summit will be held at the Royal Garden Hotel in London.

Former Junction Point founder Warren Spector will deliver a keynote address at the Captivate Conference and Expo in October. Spector's keynote will be "Leadership in the Arts," and focuses on leadership in a creative medium. Spector has been developing games for over 30 years. On Thursday June 13th (as part of this year’s E3 expo) video gaming site Venus Patrol will team up with MOCAtv (the video channel of Los Angeles’s Museum of Contemporary Art) to present an alternative press conference called HORIZON.
