Mobile developer Halfbrick Studios is celebrating the holidays by giving the gaming community every game in its iOS catalog for free. All ten of the studio's games are available for free for a limited time including the popular Fruit Ninja and Jetpack Joyride, and its other games Fish Out Of Water!, Monster Dash, Age Of Zombies: Season 2, Band Stars, Colossatron: Massive World, Birzzle Fever, Yes Chef!, and Top Farm.

'SSX' Now Free on Xbox Live

From now until the end of the year Xbox Live Gold subscribers can download the popular EA Sports extreme snowboarding game SSX for free on Xbox 360 through Microsoft's ongoing Games With Gold freebie game giveaway program. The game normally retails for $19.99 on Microsoft's digital marketplace.

SSX takes the place of the Xbox 360 game The Raven: Legacy of a Master Thief, which was available for free in the first half of December.

'Killzone Shadow Fall' Update Adds Alternative Way to Earn In-Game Currency

A new update to the PS4 launch title, Killzone Shadow Fall, adds a way to earn in-game currency - as opposed to buying it with real-world cash. Prior to the update, the only way to get it was through paid downloadable content. Patch 1.80 adds a new in-game currency called Valor, which can be spent on customization and gameplay boosting DLC.

Players can earn Valor by playing multiplayer matches and have their score converted into the new currency. Players can also receive bonuses by completing challenges listed on the game's Update screen.

Sony Offering Free Game With PS4 for $400

Sony is offering a special deal for those who haven't bought a PlayStation 4 yet: a free game to go along with it. Those who purchase the $399.99 PS4 will find a code inside to download one of four games. It is unclear if this is a direct response to Microsoft's Xbox One price cut to $350 (including Xbox One bundles that come with various games) as part of a holiday promotion running until early January.

Turtle Rock: 'Evolve' Will Not Divide Its Community Based On Content Purchases

Evolve developer Turtle Rock Studios plans to give away all downloadable content for free and it says that its premium DLC content will not "directly exclude" players who have purchased the base game.

In an interview with IGN, Turtle Rock's Phil Robb, the creative director for Evolve, said that his company has done this so it does not fracture the community into two groups.

The recently released game from Copenhagen, Denmark-based studio Playdead is a dark 2D puzzle-platformer that was originally released on Xbox 30 in July of 2010. Fan-Made Demake of 'Day Z' Gets Some Love From Bohemia

Bohemia Interactive liked a fan-made 2D demake of Day Z so much that it is now hosting it on their official web site. The free fan-made DayZ tribute called MiniDayZ "demakes" Bohemia's popular survival sandbox as a top-down 2D experience with retro-style graphics and single-player gameplay (the game doesn't feature multiplayer like Day Z).

MiniDayZ was created by a Russian DayZ fan who goes by the online name of CannedBits. He (or she) has been developing the project since the spring and managed to get the attention of DayZ creator Dean "Rocket" Hall.

GOG Autumn Sale Offers 'The Witcher 2' For Free

GOG.com has officially kicked off its annual Autumn Sale, offering steep discounts as high as 85 percent off its catalog of DRM-free PC games. Along with those discounts, you can get The Witcher 2 for free - but you'll have to jump through a few hoops first.

EA is offering players a free week-long trial of Battlefield 4 on Origin as part of its ongoing Game Time promotion. 'The Crew' Free DLC and Season Pass Detailed

Ubisoft announced today that its online focused racing game The Crew will receive free DLC in addition to a season pass. For $24.99 players will get two exclusive cars at launch next month, and one week's worth of "early access" to four car packs. Those cars will also be sold individually for $6.99 each.

As new content packs are released, Ubisoft says that they will be accompanied by new missions that match the DLC's theme, which will be available to all players free of charge.

Microsoft Tweaks Xbox Live Rewards Program

Microsoft has revamped its Xbox Live Rewards program, adding some new ways for players to earn credits for things they likely already do on Xbox One and Xbox 360. One of the changes is a new star system, which gives players higher rebate rates on purchases. You'll have to spend a fair amount of money buying things to earn stars, though - for example, members who spend $150 annually will earn one star. The star offers a one percent rebate. You can get up to five percent by earning stars, though Xbox Live Gold members will see that percentage amount doubled.
