Developer Creates Wikia Page to Help YouTube Content Creators

Level Up Labs co-founder Lars Doucet has created and deployed a Wikia directory page called WhoLetsPlay that informs video content creators which publishers allow monetized Let's Play videos and which do not. The Wikia page divides publishers into three groups:

YES - Allows Let's Play AND allows them to be monetized.

MAYBE - Might allow monetization under some circumstances, or it is unknown.

No - Does not allow monetization.

Report: Zynga Founder Asked President to Pardon Snowden

Visceral Games Auctions Dead Space Loot for Typhoon Haiyan Relief Efforts

The Dead Space development team is auctioning off 50 unique Dead Space items on eBay to help raise money for victims of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines. The typhoon has left millions homeless and an estimated 6,000 people dead. The items Visceral Games is auctioning include Dead Space 3 Dev Team Editions (sans the actual game), a Dead Space RIG backpack, a Dead Space 2 "Eye Poke Machine" hologram, hoodies, statues, art books, graphic novels and more Much of these offerings are autographed by members of the team.

CCP and EVE Online Community Raise Nearly $191K Typhoon Haiyan Relief

CCP Games announced that EVE Online players have donated US$190,890 to the Icelandic Red Cross to help the citizens of the Philippines recover from Typhoon Haiyan. The money was raised through the game's PLEX for GOOD program, which allows players of the popular game to collectively donate in-game currency to worthy charities, as well as other associated donations.

Game Companies Push Back Against New YouTube Copyright Enforcement System

ESA LOFT Video Game Innovation Fellowship Recipients Announced

Sony Donates 15 Million Yen to Philippines for Typhoon Relief Efforts

GOG.com Launches Charity Promotion to Benefit WWF, Gaming for Good, and Worldbuilders

GOG.com is taking part in a fundraising campaign that lets consumers donate a minimum of $5 to one of three charities to get three games. The charities include the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), Gaming for Good, and Worldbuilders. The games players can choose from include FTL, Waking Mars, Incredipede, The Whispered World, Driftmoon, PID, Darwinia, Creature's Village, Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee, and Botanicula.

There's no rule against donating to all three charities, which means that you could pick up nine of the ten games listed above.

Extra Life Attacked, Raises Over $3 Million Anyways

Despite its web site being the target of a distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack, the folks at the Extra Life charity managed to raise a decent amount of money (with the help of thousands of gamers) over the weekend. The charity sent out multiple emails over the weekend keeping Extra Life members in the loop as the events unfolded.
