In last week's poll we asked our readers, "Poll: Do You Want a Playstation TV?" Around 39 percent who voted in the poll said "they didn't want" Sony's new micro console, while 34 percent claimed that they had no idea what a PlayStation TV, and 24 percent saying they would like to own the new system.

On Friday, May 30, at 5:00 PM PDT we'll be hosting the hundredth episode of the show live on Google +. While we're still hashing out the details - including a few guests - we really want the GamePolitics community to join us, ask us questions, and join in on the fun.

We're probably going to be talking about the Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles in a few weeks as well as some of the more interesting news stories that happened during the week (Nintendo's new program for Youtubers and Watch Dogs comes to mind).

Last week we asked readers "Should Violent Video Game Research Continue?" The majority of those who participated in the poll said that there is enough research on the topic and it's time to move on.

In this week's poll we want to know what you think about Candy Crush Saga maker King's ongoing trademark battles with various independent developers. Are these actions enough to put the company ahead of Electronic Arts as The Consumerist's Worst Company in America Award (or the "Golden Poo," as they call it)?

Last week we asked readers why they thought that the ultra popular Flappy Bird app was pulled from Apple's App Store and Google Play by creator Dong Nguyen, despite the game reportedly making tens of thousands of dollars a day on advertising.

In last week's poll we were making fun of Walmart when we asked our readers, "You buy your kid a new 3DS from Walmart. What’s worse?," followed by three options: "Finding porn on it," "Discovering that Walmart sold you a used 3DS as new," or that "You bought something at Walmart."

Last week we asked our readers, "Do Publishers Know the NSA Is Conducting Surveillance Operations In Their Games?" An overwhelming majority of voters believe that publishers are lying about their knowledge of the NSA's activities in games like World of Warcraft and Second Life, or they are blissfully unaware of what's going on.

In last week's poll, we asked readers if they missed video game cartridges (think Nintendo Entertainment System, SNES, Nintendo 64, Master System, and Sega Genesis era). A slim majority of those who participated in the poll said that digital downloads are their favorite way to get games and that they don't miss the days of carts all that much.

In last week's poll we asked you if the results of an investigation into the Dec. 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting would change anyone's minds about gaming's correlation to Adam Lanza's shooting spree that saw six adults and 20 children shot almost a year ago. The majority of those who voted in the poll didn't think the findings of the report would change the minds of those who believe that video games held a strong influence on Adam Lanza and his actions.

Last week in our poll we asked readers, "Will Reselling Disc-Based PS4 Games Be a Hassle?" Only 176 votes were cast, showing that many of you seemed not to care one way or the other.

In our latest Letters to the Editor, freelance writer Jon Hochschartner posits that animal rights activists need their own "Bechdel test" to evaluate the mistreatment of animals in video games.

Animal activists need their own rubric to assess anthropocentrism in fictional work that's similar to the Bechdel test employed by feminists to gauge gender bias.

In last week's poll we asked our readers "What would you do with the Kinect when the Xbox One’s not in use?" The majority of those who participated in the poll said that they would simply unplug it, while a small portion of respondents said that they would leave it plugged in and go about the business of playing games or whatever else they enjoy doing on Xbox One.

Today at GamePolitics we are launching a new feature called Letters to the Editor, where we let our readers offer their very strong opinions on the issues that matter most to them.

Our very first letter comes from Ben Hayward, who felt the need to write about mass shootings, guns, firearms education, and video games. We left Ben's comments mostly unchanged, and only lightly edited. We hope you enjoy it.

In last week's poll we asked our readers, "How much longer will video games be blamed for violent behavior?" Around 809 votes were cast, with the majority of voters believing that video games and the video games industry can look forward to being blamed for real-world violent crime for the foreseeable future - or at least until some other technology comes along that is scarier than video games.

In the early hours of the morning IndieGameStand expanded its operations from offering small indie 96-hour flash sales of select games to a full blown catalog. We thought it was an interesting move given all the competition in the space, but we wondered why over 72 indie developers jumped at the chance to be part of the catalog and why 14 of them wanted to be part of the very first sale.

Last week we asked our readers, "Who should buy Atlus?" Around 842 votes were cast, with a good portion of those believing that Nintendo would treat the studio the best, followed by Sony, and then Sega.

In last week's poll we asked you "Should MMOs limit the amount of time gamers can play them to stem pathological addiction?" Around 431 votes were cast with the lion's share going towards personal responsibility on the part of gamers.

One percent of voters (5 votes) said that limits on MMOs should be mandated by the government. Seven percent (30 votes) that developers should voluntarily added controls that limit gameplay. But a whopping 92 percent (396 votes) said that gamers should be responsible for their own actions.

Last week we asked you "Which company’s E3 press event are you most looking forward to?" and a large majority seemed apathetic about the whole thing. 389 votes were cast, with the majority (35 percent, or 137 votes) indicating that they were most interested in Sony's press conference. Twenty-five percent (or 96 votes) indicated that Nintendo's press conference at E3 next week was important, while 20 percent (79) said that you didn't care about any press conferences related to E3.

Last week after Microsoft's Xbox One press event we asked you "Are you excited for the Xbox One?" After 823 votes we have drawn the conclusion that the majority of our readers are not all that excited about Microsoft's next-generation console. Maybe it had to do with the fact that Microsoft had a hard time giving a straight answer about the console having to be always connected with the Internet, or its fee on used Xbox One games.

Last week we asked you "Will there be any female presenters at the unveiling of Microsoft’s new console?" The majority of you indicated that you think that the Microsoft event tomorrow morning will be a total sausage-fest, with a large number of you expecting just one fame presenter (which is apparently one more than Sony had at its PS4 event earlier in the year). Let's jump into the numbers:

Last week we asked you to guess what Microsoft might name its next console. From five choices, a clear majority of you took the "joke" option, saying that the Next Xbox console would be called "Xbox Steve." Some of you may have thought this option referred to Microsoft's Steve Ballmer, or perhaps you thought it was an homage to the Minecraft character of the same name. Whatever the reason, 40 percent of the votes (169 votes) decided that "Xbox Steve" was the best choice.

Last week we asked you, How long did your lengthiest gaming marathon last? The results are in and of the 416 votes casts, the majority of you said that you spent 10 hours or more playing a single game.

Last week we asked you if you "have you ever stopped playing a video game on moral grounds?" The question was inspired by this story about a man who got a refund from Valve because he objected to a certain scene in the Steam version of BioShock Infinite involving a religious rite.
