At the end of last week, Tommy Refenes - one of the co-creators of the indie hit Super Meat Boy - held a three night fundraising event to raise money for his sick mother. On Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, Refenes took to Twitch to play and stream Red Dead Redemption, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, and Grand Theft Auto V in the hopes of helping his sister raise $15,000 to get their mother a diabetic alert dog.

Lindsay Lohan's lawsuit against Rockstar/Take-Two Interactive for her alleged depiction in Grand Theft Auto V has shifted its focus to be compatible with New York State law (the jurisdiction where the lawsuit was filed) and the amended complaint filed by Lohan's lawyers has gone from 10 to 67 pages long, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Two former members of the audio team behind Rockstar Games' ultra popular Grand Theft Auto franchise have struck out on their own. The duo have launched Solid Audioworks, an audio production company "offering a combined 30 years of ground and sound-breaking expertise."

Besides working on Grand Theft Auto series, the Solid Audioworks duo have also been responsible for creating audio content for such games as L.A. Noire, the Manhunt franchise, and Red Dead Redemption.

On the heels of announcing that it planned to bring Grand Theft Auto V to Xbox One and PS4 this fall, and to the PC in early 2015 with additional content and other improvements, Rockstar Games has explained in a brief comment on its site, why all of these releases are taking so long. In a comment on the original announcement, Rockstar explained that it is taking the extra time - particularly on the PC release - to ensure that it is "amazing."

Rockstar Games will release the next-generation versions of its mega hit action game Grand Theft Auto V at the end of this year, but PC gamers chomping at the bit to play the game will have to wait until early next year. The Xbox One and PS4 versions of GTA V will be hitting retail on November 18, while the PC version won't be available until January 27.

While the wait for all three versions of the game is a bit longer than many will be comfortable with, the good news is that these games will ship with some extra content.

Those who purchased a 12 GB PlayStation 3 system will soon find themselves unable to play GTA Online, according to Rockstar Games. According to the GTA V and GTA Online maker, PS3 12GB owners will either need to upgrade their hard drive to a larger size or play Grand Theft Auto V in offline mode. The reason behind this sudden and dramatic change? A new title update, version 1.16, was released on August 19 and it requires more storage space than the 12GB PS3 can hold.

Grand Theft Auto V maker Rockstar Games and its parent company Take-Two Interactive responded to Lindsay Lohan's lawsuit in a Manhattan Court filing on Tuesday. The companies said in their response to Lohan's lawsuit that the Hollywood star "filed [the lawsuit] for publicity purposes." They also called the lawsuit frivolous.

They are asking the court to dismiss the lawsuit and for Lohan to pay its legal fees.

Christian music publication Breathecast has an interesting article on actress Kristin Scott Thomas, who says that she would not let her 12-year-old son watch her new film, "Only God Forgives." That makes sense. In the article she also laments about video games and their evil influence on young people.

Actress Lindsay Lohan filed a lawsuit against Rockstar Games and parent company Take-Two Interactive, alleging that a character in Grand Theft auto V used her image, voice, and clothes line without her permission. The lawsuit was filed Wednesday in a Manhattan court.

Leslie Benzies, the president of Grand Theft Auto developer Rockstar North, will buy Edinburgh, Scotland’s St. Stephen’s Church to save it for the community, the Edinburgh Evening News reports. A spokesperson for Benzies said that the church is "an entirely philanthropic purchase" to preserve St. Stephen’s for community use. The church building is worth an estimated £500,000.

Rockstar has apologized for the ongoing delays to heists mode for GTA Online, which was once scheduled to be released in the Spring. The feature allows players to team up to tackle some of the gameplay found in Grand Theft Auto 5's single-player campaign.

"We know many fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of the Online Heists that we had planned to release for you this spring, and they are taking more time to create than originally anticipated," Rockstar explained in a comment on the company's official blog.

Last night at Sony's E3 press conference the company announced that Grand Theft Auto V would be coming to the PS4 in the fall. What the company did not mention (and why on earth would they?) is that Rockstar's latest title in the hit series would also be coming to the Xbox One and - yes, finally - the PC.

"Grand Theft Auto V for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC will take full advantage of the power of new generation systems to deliver the ultimate open-world experience," said the studio in an announcement last night.

According to UK publication The Sunday Times, Grand Theft Auto creators and Rockstar co-founders Sam and Dan Houser have made the paper's "1,000 wealthiest people in Britain" list, alongside the creator of RuneScape, the owner of a video game retailer, and a man associated with King.com.

The Houser brothers barely made the list at the 947 spot with a joint fortune of $151 million.

The petition on Change.org urging Rockstar Games to bring Grand Theft Auto V to PC has almost 700,000 signatures. It has roughly 690,000 as of this writing, gaining 40,000 since that last time we checked earlier this year. GTA V was released in September 2013 on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, generating $800 million in 24 hours and more than $1 billion in sales in the first three days of its release. Around 32.5 million copies have shipped to-date.

Rockstar Games' open-world action game Grand Theft Auto V was the biggest winner at this year's European Game Awards. The latest game in the GTA series picked up awards for Best Sound, Best Action Game, and Best Game. Ubisoft was named Best Publisher, while Goodgame Studios won awards for Best Studio and Best Browser game for Empire: Four Kingdoms. Other notable winners included World of Tanks: Xbox 360 Edition, Beyond: Two Souls and Battlefield 4 - which was honored for Best Art Direction and Best Multiplayer Game.

A Chicago man is being held on $1,000 bond after being arrested for allegedly continuing to play a video game for more than two hours while his two-year-old stepson suffered with a broken leg. According to the Chicago Tribune, 19-year-old Luis Matienzo would not stop playing Grand Theft Auto V - even as his stepson sat crying in a playpen because he was suffering from a broken leg.

Security firm Trend Micro says that there has been an uptick of scams involving a fake Grand Theft Auto V PC beta test. When users take the bait, they end up with an infected PC, according to the firm. If you've been paying attention you are probably already well aware that Rockstar Games has not said that it is making a PC version of its 2013 hit open world action game.

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick says that the launch of Grand Theft Auto Online gives Rockstar the breathing room to take its time with the next Grand Theft Auto game. Speaking to MCV, Zelnick told the publication that there are no plans to launch another GTA title this year.

Karen Gravano, the daughter of New York City mobster-turned-informant Sammy "The Bull" Gravano, has filed a lawsuit in Manhattan against Take-Two Interactive and Rockstar Games, claiming that the game makers made a character based on her without her permission in Grand Theft Auto V.

Publisher Take-Two Interactive released financial results for its fiscal third quarter ending December 31, 2013, revealing that it raked in a whopping $578 million in profits. The company attributed the lion's share of this profit to its latest game in the popular Grand Theft Auto series, Grand Theft Auto V.

A U.S. District Court in California has dismissed a class action lawsuit that tried to take Take-Two Interactive and its subsidiary Rockstar Games to task for the delayed launch of the multiplayer component for Grand Theft Auto V - Grand Theft Auto Online.

The lawsuit (McMahon v. Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. et al., C.D. Cal. Case No. 5:13-cv-02032-VAP-SP) was filed on October 4 by Bruce McMahon and Christopher Bengtson, but later moved to the federal court in mid-November.

Rockstar Games said that those individuals who are using money cheats in Grand Theft Auto Online can expect a swift and unmerciful ban. In a new blog post the company said that those who have used exploits and cheats to secure mountains of illegally-gained funds better watch out. They called the large influx of cash from cheating "game-breaking" and "disruptive to the overall experience."

The petition on Change.org asking Rockstar Games to port Grand Theft Auto V to PC has surpassed 650,000 signatures. That's 50,000 more than the 600,000 the petition had way back in October of 2012.

Rockstar has released Grand Theft Auto V title update 1.09, which deals specifically with cheating and exploits in its popular crime caper game for various platforms. According to a very brief update on the Rockstar support website, the update offers "improved anti-cheat measures" and a "fix for several GTA$ and RP exploits."

A Japanese man has been arrested for allegedly forcing his young stepson to play Grand Theft Auto while his mother was not at home. The Kyoto, Japan resident, a 28 year-old male nurse named Maasa Kawabata forced his nine year-old son to play Grand Theft Auto IV for two-to-three weeks, with each gaming session lasting about two or three hours a day. All of this occurred while his mother was outside the home. He also apparently told the boy that he was "stupid," a "moron," and that he should "die" whenever his mother was not around.

Rockstar Games' Grand Theft Auto V has sold more than 3.6 million copies in the UK, according to CVG, and is poised to take the crown for the best-selling game of all time.

Rockstar is calming Grand Theft Auto players down who are concerned that they may get their accounts banned through no fault of their own. The fear stems from GTA Online money hackers who are giving away large sums of (we assume ill-gotten) in-game currency to strangers, making them vulnerable to a ban by Rockstar.

Rockstar's position is that honest players do not need to be worried about getting banned.

Comparing the fake locales in the game with their real-world counterparts, writer Randy Nelson concludes that the Grand Theft Auto V crew's real estate holdings are worth an impressive $26,102,642 in property value.

Rockstar Games announced that the "stimulus package," two payouts of in-game cash at $250,000 each, will be rolled out as part of a patch next week. The stimulus is part of an apology on the part of Rockstar for consumers who tried to play Grand Theft Auto Online in October and found that they couldn't due to bugs, connectivity issues, and other problems that plagued the game at launch.

Rockstar had planned on dolling out the cash to play a week ago, but found that there were still a lot of issues with the game that needed to be addressed first.

Last week in our poll we asked readers "Will There Ever Be a PC Release of Grand Theft Auto 5?" A majority of the 443 votes cast indicated that a PC release of the game is definitely happening. Around 68 percent of voters (285 votes) said that a port to PC is going to happen and that people should just exercise some patience. Given that GTA IV came to the PC a long time after it was released on consoles, this makes sense to most people.
