The PlayStation TV micro console from Sony is available at North American retailers in several packages today. The micro console from Sony comes in two flavors: a $99.99 standalone system (minus a memory card and controller), or a $139.99 bundle that includes a wireless DualShock 3 controller, 8GB memory card, and The Lego Movie Videogame.

In Europe (launching November 14), PS TV will retail for around £84.99/€99.99 and will include vouchers for Worms Revolution Extreme, Velocity Ultra and OlliOlli. Controllers and memory cards will have to be purchased separately.

Sony has released the first video showing off some of the features you can expect from its upcoming PlayStation TV micro-console. The PlayStation TV promises to let consumers stream PlayStation 4 games to another HD TV in their homes, and play titles from other Sony home console and portable systems on the big screen. The system is already available in Japan.

Sony announced that almost 700 games will be available on PlayStation TV when it launches in Europe and North America later this year. The PlayStation TV is a micro-console originally made for Asia that allows streaming of PS4 games to another HD in your home, as well as select PS Vita, PSP, and PS One classic games.

According to what GamesBeat describes as "a credible source who is close to the matter," Ouya is in preliminary talks about a possible acquisition or investment in the company.

While the Ouya "All-Access" pass might have delighted owners of the Android-powered micro-console, some developers were not happy about the promotion. The company unveiled the All-Access Pass which for a one-off payment of $59.99 granted users access to over 800 games available for the platform for a 12 month period.

A new initiative that was revealed yesterday called "Ouya Everywhere" is Ouya's way of expanding its Android micro-console's library of games to households that don't own the system. Speaking to Slashdot, Ouya founder and CEO Julie Uhrman explained in greater detail how the new system will work and why the company decided to expand it to other hardware.

So, Amazon (that big, online retailer where you probably a buy a bunch of stuff) is reportedly making a video game console and will release it sometime this year.

According to a VG247 report citing multiple sources, Amazon is planning on pushing out a micro-console of sorts later this year. According to the report, Amazon has been showing select development and publishing partners the new device, which - much like the Kindle Fire - is capable of playing high-definition videos through its Amazon Prime streaming services, Android games, and more.

Mad Catz has begun selling its $249.99 Mojo Android video game micro console, though we are still unsure if the device actually supports PC-to-HDTV streaming. On its site dedicated to the console, the company announced that it has begun shipping to retail outlets nationwide. The micro-console runs a generic version of the Android 4.2.2 Jellybean operating system and allows you to play your Android games, apps, and media on your TV screen using a controller.

It looks like the retail launch of the Android-based GameStick micro-console from PlayJam will be delayed (again) due to technical issues and other problems being experienced by backers. PlayJam chief marketing officer Anthony Johnson confirmed to Polygon this morning that the public launch of the device had been delayed to Nov. 15 due to "production delays." Retailers like GameStop have already adjusted their release dates for the device to Nov. 15.

The Android-based Ouya micro-console will soon be making its way to all Target stores this month. Beginning later this month the console will make its way to the U.S. retailer with a major promotional deal and with some stores offering kiosks so consumers can try the system out.

A new report from International Data Corporation (IDC) suggests that the PlayStation 4's lower price point will help it beat out Microsoft's Xbox One this holiday season. IDC said that this will occur due to a "variety of factors," but the biggest determining factor is that the PS4 costs $100 less than the Xbox One: the Xbox One will retail for around $500, while the PS4 will cost $400. The price difference is mostly due to Kinect being bundled with the Xbox One, while Sony's PlayStation Eye will be sold separately.

Sony is not the only company looking to launch a streaming media device in Asia. Microsoft and Shanghai media giant BesTV have apparently formed a joint venture to build and deploy a game device that will offer streaming entertainment services in China.
