The Catnip Bundle has launched over at Bundle Stars offering PC players 10 instantly downloadable PC games for whatever price they want. The highlighted title in the Catnip Bundle is Pushcat, an arcade game from indie studio Zut Games. Other titles include Metal Drift, Obulis, Avencast: Rise of the Mage, Post Mortem, Wasteland Angel, Chains, Nikopol, and two mystery titles.

It's dueling Humble Bundles as two new bundles launch: the latest Humble Weekly Sale and the Humble Mobile Bundle. The weekly sale offers THQ's (who gets the money for these games at this point?) Darksiders; Red Faction: Armageddon; and Red Faction: Armageddon Path to War DLC. If you pay more than the average, you'll also get Steam keys for Red Faction: Guerrilla and Darksiders II. The Humble Mojam 2 Bundle has sailed past the $500,000 mark which in turn has forced Mojang co-founder Marcus 'Notch' Persson to shave off his trademark beard.

Notch made the commitment to shave off his beard last weekend during the Mojam 72-hour game development jam, but the number of contributions had not hit the $500,000 mark during that time.

Being a good sport, he decided to honor the promise today. He made the announcement via Twitter:

The latest pay-what-you-want, DRM-free bundle that featured a 72-hour marathon game jam session starring teams from Mojang, Grapefrukt, Ludosity, Oxeye, Vlambeer, and Wolfire, has managed to raise over $476,000 total (so far) for charity. The teams made a total of nine games in various phases of development in 72-hours, which ended on Saturday evening.

An anonymous source just donated $100,000 to the Humble Bundle Mojam 2, the latest pay-what-you-want DRM-free bundle. With that huge contribution, the Humble Bundle Mojam 2 has managed to raise just over $252,000.

The charities benefitting from this latest bundle are the Electronic Frontier Foundation and Block by Block - a new collaboration with UN Habitat and Mojang. The news of this massive donation was tweeted by Mojang's Jens Bergensten:

Indie Royale introduces a new five-pack game bundle called the "Evolved Bundle." We missed this when it was announced last week but it is pretty interesting news worth mentioning: IndieGames.com and Gamasutra parent the UBM Tech Game Network has transferred its 50% share in the Indie Royale game bundle to UK games investment firm Tenshi Ventures. Indie Royale started out as a joint venture between UBM Tech Game Network and digital distribution platform Desura. Desura will retain its 50 percent stake in the popular indie game bundle. Tenshi Ventures is operated by two veteran British developers: Ian Baverstock and Jonathan Newth.

Indie Royale has announced the Replay Bundle Vol. 1 today, offering a variety of games such games as Nuclear Dawn, Gemini Rue, Defense Grid: The Awakening, Soulcaster and Soulcaster 2 for a very low price. The bundle also includes the soundtracks for Soulcaster 1 and 2, a remixed soundtrack for Soulcaster 2, and six DLC goodies for Defense Grid (the Borderlands DLC, Resurgence map packs 1 - 4, and You Monster DLC). The extra stuff is only available on Steam.

And just like that, Humble Indie Bundle 7 comes to a close with 395,917 bundles sold for a grand total of $2,650,204.55.

The pot will be divvied up among Humble Bundle, the games' developers, the Electronic Frontier Foundation and the Child's Play charity according to the whims of the individual buyers.

Indie Royale has launched its Xmas Bundle 2.0, offering a pay-what-you-want bundle just in time for the holidays.

On the heels of generating over $5 million from the Humble THQ Bundle, THQ says that it is evaluating various options for making more of its PC games Linux friendly. One of the biggest complaints against this particular bundle was that it was Windows-only. THQ now says that it is evaluating the costs and benefits of Linux, following consumer feedback on the Humble THQ Bundle.

With just one hour remaining before close, the Humble THQ Bundle has managed to break the $5 million mark off the sale of almost 870,000 bundles. The average price paid for this Windows-only pay-what-you-want bundle currently sits at $5.67. In case you missed previous stories on this particular bundle, the Humble THQ Bundle contains Red Faction: Armageddon, Darksiders, Metro 2033, Company of Heroes, Company of Heroes Opposing Fronts, Company of Heroes: Tales of Valor, Saints Row The Third, and several game soundtracks.

UPDATE:  Humble Bundle has added Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War Game of the Year Edition to the games you'll pick up if you pay over the average price.

The Humble THQ Bundle has added a little bonus content to further encourage gamers to pick up the Windows-only pay-what-you want collection of THQ games. The new additions are the Diablo-like action RPG Titan Quest from bankrupted Iron Lore Studios and the Red Faction: Armageddon DLC pack, Path of War.

Only a day after being offered, the Humble THQ Bundle has managed to garner $2.38 million in sales (and climbing even as we write this). The pay-what-you-want THQ bundle managed to do this despite the fact that it doesn't offer Mac and Linux versions of the game (which many are not happy about). Nevertheless, the sale shows that big publishers can get in on the action and make some cash.
