Football Manager GM Miles Jacobson said recently (as reported by MCV) at the London Games Conference 2013 event that 10.1 million copies of the PC version of Football Manager 2013 have been illegally downloaded. The game was cracked on May 12, but the crack featured a strange flaw called Home that allowed Jacobson and his company to track the IP addresses of everyone who downloaded the game illegally and played it.

Valve has opened up registration for the Steam In-home Streaming closed beta, which will begin within the next two months (before the end of 2013). G3 Studios wants to get out in front of an upcoming crowd-funding campaign to bankroll its upcoming PC role-playing game, Deathfire: Ruins of Nethermore. Deathfire: Ruins of Nethermore is described as a first-person, party-based role-playing game with a heavy emphasis on story and character development. A prototype of the game is already in development by G3 Studios (using the Unity engine), and veteran role-playing game designer/producer Guido Henkel is leading the project.

For some reason The Witcher series developers decided that it was necessary to confirm that the next title in the series on the PC would have no digital rights management software in it. In an open letter to the community, CD Projekt Red CEO Marcin Iwinski addressed apparent concerns within the community that the PC version of its upcoming action role-playing game The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt would contain some form of DRM.

GTA V released on the PS3 and Xbox 360 last month to rave reviews and record-breaking sales.  And yet, some gamers are still not happy.

The folks at Humble Bundle have added new games to its Pay-What-You-Want Humble Bundle 7 with Android today. The old bundle featured four games: Ticket to Ride and the USA 1910 DLC) Greed Corp, Incredipede and Anodyne - along with the soundtracks for Ticket to Ride, Greed Corp, and Anodyne - along with a remix album.

Id Software co-founder and Oculus Rift guy John Carmack says that he is not convinced that Valve Software can pull off the lofty goals of SteamOS and Steam Machines - while at the same time admitting that he has been very wrong in the past about what Valve is capable of.

"There's an interesting kind of retrospective on it," Carmack said during Nvidia’s Montreal conference.

He also pointed out the time when Valve approached Id Software about adding Doom 3 to Steam's launch lineup.

The Change.org petition to bring Grand Theft Auto V to the PC continues to garner a respectable amount of support. As of this writing the petition has over 600,000 supporters, up from 500,000 a month ago. GTA V was released a month ago on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, generating $800 million in 24 hours and more than $1 billion in three days. PC gamers want in on that action, but Rockstar continues to be quiet on the subject.

In a recent interview with Polygon, DICE creative director Lars Gustavsson said that the Linux operating system is one killer game away from having a major impact on gaming. He believes that the open-sourced OS one "killer app" away from that possibility.

Microsoft Studios corporate vice-president Phil Spencer says that "it makes a lot of sense" that a symbiotic ecosystem exist between Xbox One and the Windows-based PCs. In an interview with AusGamer, Spencer was asked if Windows 8 and Xbox One could host cross-platform play between their respective platforms.

"I'm not allowed to leak things," Spencer replied, "but I think what you're talking about makes a lot of sense."

Citing multiple sources "close to the situation," Eurogamer is claiming that the PC version of Grand Theft Auto V will be released in the first quarter of 2014 (January to March). There's been a lot of speculation about a PC version of the game being released, but Rockstar has been pretty quiet about it so far.

Intel strongly believes that Grand Theft Auto V will eventually make its way to the PC, and not because of the petition on Change.org... Speaking to PC Gamer, Intel's Director of marketing for its Premium Notebooks Chris R. Silva said that the record-setting PS3 and Xbox 360 game won't remain a console-exclusive for much longer.
