Following a recent password reset in Europe for the PlayStation Network users, Sony has decided to do the same to North American users as a precautionary measure.

The company's European division did the same thing last week after detecting what it called "irregular activity" on the network.

As PS4 users find new, exciting and sometimes questionable ways to stream content, Twitch shows them who's boss with a handful of bans. Apparently the streaming service is not pleased with some of the content being streamed by a select few PS4 owners. In addition to cracking down on non-gaming content, Twitch has banned a small number of accounts for streaming inappropriate content and inappropriate conversations that go against parts of its terms of service.

According to a circular uncovered by VideoGamer, a bundle offering the PlayStation 4 and the PS Vita will be available to consumers in early December. While Sony has confirmed that the "Ultimate Bundle" is real, it looks like it will only confirm it for the United Kingdom.

Just as Microsoft did last week when Sony launched the PS4, Sony has congratulated Microsoft on its launch of the Xbox One today. Sony's official PlayStation Twitter account offered the following congratulatory message to Microsoft and its Xbox team:

"Congrats, @Xbox @Microsoft! #NextGeneration #GreatnessAwaits"

Sony Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida also sent a congratulatory tweet to Microsoft's Phil Spencer, Phil Harrison, Major Nelson and Albert Penello:

Part two of South Park's "A Song of Ass and Fire" aired last night, continuing the storyline about Black Friday and Xbox One v. PS4 fanboy wars. Cartman's Xbox One crew goes head-to-head with Kenny's small group of PS4 fanboys in an epic Black Friday battle at the South Park Mall. All of the boys in this week's episode are dressed as they will be in Obsidian Entertainment's RPG, South Park: The Stick of Truth - due out in March 2014.

According to an announcement made by Activision today, Call of Duty: Ghosts is the best-selling PS4 game so far. The PlayStation 4 launched on Nov. 15, and the PS4 version of Call of Duty: Ghosts was launched on the same day. The game is also available for last-generation consoles and PC, with an Xbox One version launching at the end of this week. The company cited sales data from top North American retailers including Best Buy, GameStop, Target, and Wal-Mart.

Sony's new PlayStation 4 retails for $399, but - according to this AllThingsD report - the system costs $381 to make. This is according to research firm IHS iSuppli, who are old hands at electronics teardowns and cost analyses. The firm tells AllThingsD that the components and the cost of assembly comes to roughly $381.

As the PlayStation 4 hit North America some consumers took their shiny new next-generation home and realized that it didn't work very well. On Friday Sony said that it was looking into an issue some customers were experiencing with the PS4, and today they have put together a page dedicated to working out the problem. What was the problem? Some customers in North America were reporting that the console was giving them a blue blinking light. A blue blinking light was replacing the white solid light, which means that the console is in the "powered on" state.

Whoever wins the first round of this new console cycle war, individuals at Microsoft are showing that they can be cordial and decent. Today via its official Xbox Twitter account Microsoft offered Sony congratulations on lunching its PlayStation 4 console. Several Microsoft executives involved with the Xbox One also extended their own personal messages congratulating Sony.

Sony Online Entertainment announced that DC Universe Online is now available on the PlayStation 4 as part of the system's launch day lineup. DCUO was the first free-to-play MMO on the PlayStation 3, and is now one of the first available for the PlayStation 4. More information can be found below.

We are not sure if the man in this video shot outside a Montreal Best Buy is pulling an elaborate prank, is genuinely angry about something or is simply out of his flipping mind, but it provides the official "WTF" moment of the day. If you watch the video to your left you'll see a man appear in the frame suddenly go berserk with what we assume is a freshly purchased PlayStation 4. He angrily tears at the console's box, raises it over his head and slams it on to the pavement.

I am pretty sure his warranty doesn't cover THAT.

This week's episode of South Park pokes a lot of fun at Black Friday holiday sales, Game of Thrones, the frenzied behavior of deal-seeking mobs, and the foolishness of console wars. In the episode Cartman, Stan, and the gang set out to create a plan to get the Xbox One on Black Friday for cheap, but in the midst of preparing for the battle at the South Park Mall, a contingent of the kids balk at getting an Xbox One, instead opting to split off and fight against Cartman's faction because they think PS4 is better.

Data released today from a September consumer survey reveals Sony's PlayStation 4 (releasing today in North America) comfortably leading Xbox One (releasing next Friday) when it came to purchase intent. Interpret found that PS4 purchase interest beat out the Xbox One across the board.

In a recent interview on TechRadar, Oculus co-founder Palmer Luckey says that console systems - both current and next-generation are too limited to work with the company's Oculus Rift virtual reality headset technology. Luckey goes on to say that the biggest problem with consoles is that their level of hardware power remains unchanged for many years, whereas PC systems are constantly upgraded and evolving.

If you are one of the millions of consumers that pre-ordered the PlayStation 4 or plan on standing in a line at a retailer in the early hours of Nov. 15 to get one, then Sony has some good advice for you: you don't have to wait to get the PS4 1.5 firmware update.

With the PlayStation 4 officially launching the day after tomorrow and the embargo on coverage being lifted this morning, publications around the web have started to publish their reviews, hands-on previews, and early looks at Sony's newest hardware and the games that play on it.

According to research firm IHS, Sony's PlayStation 4 will "comfortably" outsell the Xbox One over the next four years. IHS head of games research Piers Harding-Rolls forecasts that, while both systems will be "neck and neck in terms of sales during the launch period, Sony's system will pull ahead significantly by the end of 2017. Harding-Rolls predicts 2.4 million PS4 unit sales by the end of 2013, and 2.2 million Xbox One sales.

According to this Engadget report, the PlayStation 4 will launch on Friday with a limited number of voice commands and will not support third-party apps that use the technology. Engadget claims that on day one PS4 users will not be able to turn on the console or pause videos (among other things), using voice commands. Voice commands will be in place to open the console's tray (eject) and to turn the system off.

Sony is reiterating what it said during E3 earlier this year: users can sell their used games without too much trouble. The clarification comes on the heels of an update to the company's Sony Entertainment Network terms of service. Besides saying that it reserves the right to monitor PlayStation Network users' actions and share it with authorities as it sees fit, the updated agreement also states that games are services and cannot be resold.

The update to clause 7 reads:

Research firm IHS forecasts is suggesting that 34 percent of the money consumers spend on software for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 will be done in the digital space by 2017.

"A key driver for this digital transition will be publisher ambition to release most games digitally at the same time as boxed versions at retail outlets," said the report prepared by Piers Harding-Rolls, head of games.

Sony will be bringing its next-generation console system, the PlayStation 4 to late night television this week. According to a schedule for Late Night with Jimmy Fallon (on NBC week nights at 12:35 EST), a "game demo" of the PS4 will be shown off during the Wednesday night (Nov. 13) show. Specific details like who from Sony will be on the show or what games will be shown off were not revealed.

A day late and a dollar short would be the best way to describe Episode 76. It was recorded a few days after Extra Life (which admittedly messed with our scheduling and mental stability in the early part of the week). Add to that some technical difficulties with editing the show and you have an episode that is a week late. Nevertheless the topics we talk about on the show are timeless enough that you'll still enjoy it.

Nintendo president Satoru Iwata says that new consoles coming to market near the end of this month could signal greater consumer interest in games overall, which in turn will help Nintendo.

While Red Bull is the number one brand on YouTube (mostly because it sponsors so many interesting sporting and gaming events worldwide), "PlayStation" is also pretty popular, according to data collected by Statista and Mashable.

Sony reported a net loss of $197 million, or ¥19.3 billion in the second quarter of its current fiscal year. Despite a boost in revenue from positive currency exchange rates and decent smartphone sales, the company saw a 24.5 increase in net losses. As a result, the company has lowered net revenue expectations by about 40 percent to ¥30 billion, or $305 million, due to what it calls lowered expectations for sales of "certain electronic products."

According to a Seeking Alpha report, EA is predicting that total PS4 and Xbox One shipments will be around 10 million units by April of 2014. This is according to EA's Peter Moore, who talked at length about the next-generation of consoles and EA's plans for both of them last night during a conference call to discuss the company's latest quarterly financial results.

On Friday Sony revealed that the PlayStation 4 would require a 300 MB day one update in order to use most of the system's most popular features. While Sony has not changed its tune on that front (you're still going to need to download the update the minute you turn it on and connect to the Internet), there is one silver lining to the story now: you'll be able to do other things while you wait.

A new section of the official PlayStation 4 FAQ offers more details on Sony's policies when it comes to game sharing on its upcoming next-generation console system.

Microsoft's Xbox One won't be the only next-generations system that will need to apply a launch-day patch before it can be used. Sony confirmed that the PlayStation 4 will need to have a firmware update applied before consumers can have access to some features.
