Incumbent Republican Rep. Marcia Blackburn (pictured, left) has represented Tennessee's District 7 in the House for seven years, and she hopes to make the eighth time the charm. First she has to get by Democratic challenger Dan Cramer, a 26-year U.S. Army veteran who believes that the current Congress is unproductive and obstructive mess.

US Rep. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) has always been opposed to the FCC regulating anything, but she has been particularly outspoken about the FCC's Open Internet Order since it was introduced in 2010. To that point, Rep. Blackburn recently said that she wants to make sure the FCC never interferes with "states' rights" to protect private Internet service providers from having to compete against municipal broadband networks.

According to a report in Blackburn News, London Police have arrested a man who shared sexually explicit material with a Tennessee teen - and he did it while playing an unnamed game with him.

Lamar Alexander, the Republican Senator from Tennessee that made headlines earlier this year for saying that "video games are a bigger problem than guns because video games affect people," may have a hard time getting nominated as the Republican candidate for the 2014 race if Glenn Jacobs decides to jump in.

Taking aim at Lamar Alexander's (R-Tenn.) seat in the United States Senate in the 2014 election, U.S. Senatorial candidate (D-Tenn.) Larry Crim says that the Senators recent comments about video games are just a political game to avoid tough questions. Crim, who filed federal papers this morning to oppose Alexander in 2014, was referring to the Senator's recent comments on MSNBC when he told Chuck Todd that "video games are a bigger problem than guns because video games affect people."

University of Tennessee graduate student Charles Chin has won the Vol Court spring business pitch competition and is on track to develop and release a video game similar to SimCity that highlights the importance of energy production and consumption in the real world.

As part of an attempt to clarify regulations relating to the upcoming Tennessee turkey hunting season, a local judge set aside some time in order to offer some advice to youngsters.

Hamilton County General Sessions Court Judge Bob Moon, as quoted in The Chattanoogan, stated:

If young people spent more time in the woods and on the water and away from malls, video games and televisions, our juvenile delinquency and crime numbers would drop.

Moon, who used a bow and arrow to bag two turkeys last season, added, “Very few drug addicts and dangerous criminals are outdoorsmen.”
