The Florida Supreme Court has rejected the appeal of Deltona, Florida mass murderer Troy Victorino. While the court said that there were problems with the case, those issues did not rise to the level that would overturn Victorino's conviction. In September 2006, Victorino and another killer were sentenced to death for the brutal 2004 slaying of six people and a dog using baseball bats and knives. The crime has been described as one of the most gruesome mass killings in the state's history.

A 17-year-old father is accused of beating his 4-month-old to death, according to the Chicago Tribune and the Chicago Sun Time. After allegedly beating his crying 4-month-old boy to death in a West Englewood bedroom, 17-year-old Willie Brown played video games, Cook County prosecutors said today.

A Wisconsin teen has managed to get himself officially banned from playing video games. According to multiple reports, Racine County Court Commissioner Alice Rudebusch ordered 17-year-old Jeffery A. Ehlers of Mount Pleasant to pay a $250 signature bond and ordered him to not play video games or have "violent contact" with his family. Ehlers made his first court appearance on Monday answering charges of disorderly conduct. He is being charged as an adult.

Three men from Staten Island were so excited to get their copy of Grand Theft Auto V that they used an unconventional means to get to the front of a long line: they posed as police officers.

A London man who bought a copy of Grand Theft Auto V when it went on sale at midnight was mugged on his way home from the store.

The unnamed 23-year-old man was "hit with a brick, stabbed and stripped of his mobile phone, watch and his copy of the game."

Luckily, he is in stable condition at a local hospital.  Three men were arrested in connection with the crime.

While the media immediately jumped to the conclusion that an 8-year-old boy who shot his elderly grandmother was somehow motivated by playing Grand Theft Auto, it looks like they were completely and utterly wrong. What police initially called a "homicide" has been ruled an accidental shooting, according to the Huffington Post.

A former Royal Canadian Mounted Police officer claims that a bet on a Wii game competition involving sex as the prize was what triggered him murdering her in self defense. Keith Wiens is currently on trial for shooting his common law wife and faces a charge of second degree murder. Wiens testified this week, admitting that he fired a single shot into the head of Lynn Kalmring in August 2011 at their Penticton (British Columbia, Canada) home, but maintained that he did it in self defense because she was brandishing a knife.

An Android game featuring murdered Florida teen Trayvon Martin on a "revenge tour" has been pulled from the Google Play store, according to a report in Salon.

Aaron Hernandez, who was charged with murder on June 26, will be removed from both Madden 25 and NCAA 14, according to a report from Joystiq . Precursor Games developer Kenneth McCulloch has been arrested for allegedly possessing child pornography and the company he worked for has issued a statement saying that it has let him go. According to a press release from the Niagara Regional Police Service, Police executed a search warrant at McCulloch's St. Catharines, Ontario residence yesterday, and seized a "significant" number of computers and peripherals. The police began investigating McCulloch in April.

Indie developer Vlambeer was robbed at E3, according to Rami Ismail, co-founder of the company. The Ridiculous Fishing developer claims that a backpack was stolen on early Thursday morning from the Figueroa Hotel pool bar, a popular hangout for developers. A 19-year-old man has asked police to lock him up for the remainder of his sentence in jail because he is tired of playing Xbox 360 games under house arrest. While the 19-year-old man in Whangarei, New Zealand was on easy street - confined to his home and placed under electronic surveillance - he begged to serve the last month of his 11 month sentence in jail because he ran out of Xbox games to play. He is now serving out the rest of his sentence in the Northland Region Corrections Facility, which houses 548 minimum to high security prisoners.

A man who murdered an entire family with a tire iron in 2009 in their Beason, Ill. home tried to use video games as part of his defense earlier this week. After one day of deliberations a jury delivered a stinging verdict.

The murder trial of Chris Harris from Arminton, Illinois began earlier this month in Peoria, Illinois. Harris is accused of murdering Rick and Ruth Gee and three of their children with a tire iron in the family’s Beason home in late September 2009. One of the children, a three-year-old girl, survived the attack. Prosecutors laid out what happened after brothers Chris and Jason Harris, intoxicated from a night of drinking and doing cocaine visited the Gee home in search of marijuana.

An 18-year-old Oxford man (Thomas Frongillo) has been arrested for allegedly threatening to shoot up Anna Maria College in Paxton, Massachusetts. He was released on $50,000 bail after his arraignment in Western Worcester District Court in East Brookfield. Frongillo who is studying criminal justice at Anna Maria and is currently in the police academy there.

A 14-year-old in Washington state has been charged with attempted murder for allegedly shooting both of his parents in the head after they restricted him from electronic devices - including playing video games. On Monday, Grant County prosecutors asked the court that the 14-year-old, Nathon Brooks, be tried as an adult on attempted murder charges.

A former executive from GameStop's Texas division has been sentenced to 51 months in prison for embezzling $1.7 million from the company by setting up a shell company, according to an announcement by the U.S. Attorney's Office. Frank Christopher Olivera, the now former Vice President of corporate communications and public affairs at GameStop Texas was convicted this week.

A Connecticut high school went into lockdown mode this afternoon after a threatening note was discovered in a hallway, the Weston Forum reports. Weston High school, which is located in the southern part of the state and not too far from Newtown, was locked down after a note was found threatening specific members of the school staff and students.
