The Sims 4 modders are certainly proving to be a creative bunch, allowing players to do everything from filling in gameplay holes to adding new features into the game. Of course, sometimes people make mods to allow the game to do things that are a little bit questionable, as highlighted in this Kotaku report.

A new video from a conservative think tank called American Enterprise Institute featuring scholar Christina Hoff Sommers says that issues related to sexism and misogyny have been brought up mostly by pro-feminist tech writers and those sympathetic to them. Sommers has written several books critical of the current feminism movement including Who Stole Feminism? How Women Have Betrayed Women and The War Against Boys: How Misguided Feminism Is Harming Our Young Men.

Speaking recently at the XOXO Festival in Portland over the weekend, Tropes vs. Women in Video Games creator Anita Sarkeesian spoke out about the abuse and threats she has received in recent weeks. Sarkeesian said in her speech at the event (as detailed by the Verge) that many of the people that lob hate and threats at her and others online for their work do so because they believe they are being "noble."

A number of adult-themed images managed to make their way to the Mario & Luigi Dream Team Miiverse community, before they were finally spotted by administrators and deleted. While none of the images were x-rated, they did show anime and real women with huge breasts in various provocative poses.

According to data collected and curated by popular porn destination PornHub, 45.8 percent of the site's console traffic comes from PlayStation 3 users, 41.4 percent is from Xbox 360 users, with Wii users (6.4), 3DS users (1.4) and PS Vita users (4.5) far behind the rest of the pack but still registering enough to be noticed.

Yale University's Play2Prevent lab is using a grant from the Women’s Health Research at the Yale Pilot Program to create a game that teaches about effective ways to reduce HIV infections among young African American women. Researchers at Stanford University's Virtual Human Interaction Lab is researching how sexualized depictions of women in video games can make women feel like they are objects, and that it may alter their perception on myths related to rape.

An IndieGoGo fundraising campaign hopes to raise $9,250 to fund competition of a game about abortion rights in Texas called Choice: Texas. Choice: Texas is described by its creators as an interactive fiction game about abortion access in the Lone Star state, and will be made available for free online when it is completed. The game is the creation of Allyson Whipple (writer, editor, and poet) and Carly Kocurek (writer and cultural historian) with the help of illustrator Grace Jennings.

The U.S. Supreme Court is considering a review of the 677 New Loudon Corp. v. State of New York Tax Tribunal, following a decision from the New York Supreme Court that the state government may tax exotic dancing but not other forms of dancing. Free speech advocacy group Media Coalition thinks that if the Supreme Court were to review this decision, it would likely overturn it because it violates the First Amendment. The group recently filed an amicus brief with the court urging it to review the case.

Saints Row 4 associate producer Kate Nelson tells Edge in a recent interview that she didn't like former publisher THQ's use of adult entertainment stars to promote Saints Row 2 and Saints Row: The Third.
