NDTV reports that the Election Commission of India has launched a game to educate citizens on the importance and the process of voting and elections. The game is called "Get Set Vote," and offers a straight-forward way for citizens of all ages to learn about democracy and the electoral process in India.
GameSpot and other outlets are reporting that Electronic Arts continues to lay off its global workforce as part of a restructuring plan to streamline its development apparatus and (obviously) lower costs. According to MCV India the latest studio to be hit by layoffs is EA mobile development operations in India.
An interesting article on the Times of India website details a series of games based on the 2008 Mumbai, India terrorist attack and goes into why, perhaps, people are drawn to play them.
The columnist writes that, “In India, the Mumbai terror attack has caught game developers' fancy in a big way,” before referencing a pair of games based on the tragedy.
