Andrew Eisen: Do Zombies Have Naughty Bits?

November 7, 2013 - GamePolitics Staff

During his Extra Life marathon (as part of Team ECA) Andrew noticed that in Zombie U zombies don't have their naughtier parts rendered. Why Andrew would spend so much time on this fact is beyond me, but you can hear Andrew talking out loud by watching the video to your left.

Andrew played quite a bit of Zombie U during his 24-hour marathon, along with lots of other Wii U games. You can catch Andrew streaming on Twitch.tv at irregular intervals by signing on his channel at www.twitch.tv/andreweisen.

Andrew Eisen: Scribblenauts Unmasked Is Surprisingly Gruesome

October 22, 2013 - GamePolitics Staff

Andrew Eisen is currently enjoying Scribblenauts Unmasked for the Wii U, but during a recent play through he found a particular scene a bit darker than the rest of the light-hearted fun the game is known for. You'll have to watch the video to see what he's talking about.

'Ellen Page Simulator 2014' Trailer Pokes Fun at Beyond: Two Souls Star

October 9, 2013 - GamePolitics Staff

What better way to end the day than to focus on a spoof of this week's new PlayStation 3 game Beyond: Two Souls. The game developed by Quantic Dream and starring Hollywood actors Willem Defoe and Ellen Page, offers a lot of choices but plays out like an interactive movie, according to some critics.

Well, the faux trailer for the (not) upcoming fake game, "Ellen Page Simulator 2014," promises to let players shape the future Page by letting them make important life choices for her...

Minecraft Highlighted in South Park This Week

October 3, 2013 - James Fudge

The latest episode of South Park on Comedy Central is called "Informative Murder Porn," and deals with investigative murder shows on Cable TV and Minecraft, of all things.

When the kids of South Park learn that their parents are watching shows on OWN and Discovery ID about sex and murder (and believe that it will lead to their parents killing each other), they use a mobile phone app to block the shows on cable TV. The app uses questions only a kid would know about things you do in Minecraft.

MSNBC's Ed Schultz Insults Our Mothers

September 18, 2013 - GamePolitics Staff

MSNBC personality Ed Schultz has been insulting our intelligence with his show on TV and radio for years, but now he's taking aim at your mom. In a segment that aired this week, while holding up a copy of Grand Theft Auto V, he suggested that anyone who would let their kids play the game is a bad parent. Naturally Andrew Eisen thought he'd call his mom to get her reaction.

Team Coco Takes on Diablo III

September 11, 2013 - GamePolitics Staff

Late Night with Conan O'Brien tackles Diablo III in a segment featuring the Barbarian and Demon Hunter classes frolicking in the early part of the game. The voice-overs chatter on about smores, micro-brews, auctions, and roaring fires, along with copious amounts of somersaulting.

"For such a dark, gritty game, it seems to feature a lot of lighthearted somersaulting," notes the description of the video on YouTube.

I think Team Coco may have captured the essence of Blizzard's action RPG better than anyone else has yet... Watch the video to your left.

Funny List of Banned Questions at Hotline Miami 2 Gamescom Booth

August 23, 2013 - GamesPolitics Staff

A photo of a hand-written sign outside the Hotline Miami 2 booth at Gamescom in Cologne, Germany is making the rounds this week (it first surfaced in this NeoGAF thread).

Basically, publisher Devolver Digital was (we assume) getting tired of answering the same questions over and over again, and simply decided to let anyone visiting the booth know that these questions shouldn't be asked, or wouldn't be answered if asked.

Andrew Eisen: Call of Duty Lets You Kill Women

August 21, 2013 - GamePolitics Staff

In Andrew's latest video he talks about Call of Duty: Ghosts adding female characters into multiplayer. Chances are you can probably tell when he's being facetious, taking at dig at someone, or just engaging in overblown theatrics to make a point in the video. If you can't, then I recommend that you ask him forcefully about it in the comments.

If you enjoyed this video then you should probably check out Andrew's YouTube channel to find even more of his antics!

For $1 Million You Can Get Saint's Row IV Dangerous Wad Edition

August 9, 2013 -

Deep Silver has announced an insane gag SKU for Saint's Row IV called the "Dangerous Wad Edition." Sure, it's a marketing joke to draw attention to the upcoming release of Deep Silver's Saint's Row IV and UK retailer GAME's REAL SKUs for the game, but it sure is interesting - especially if someone was insane enough to purchase it.

The Dangerous Wad Edition costs $1 million, is only available in the UK through GAME and - there's only one copy available in the world.

It comes with some extravagant extras including:

How to Enjoy Comic-Con in Three Easy Steps

July 19, 2013 -

This short video from Andrew Eisen might make you feel a little bit better about missing out on Comic-Con in San Diego this week. While you may miss out on dressing up like Sailor Moon or Spock (no one is going to stop you from doing it at home though!) and showing off just how great your costume is to unwashed masses, you can still see all the announcements, panel discussions, and more very easily.

Watch Andrew's video to learn how you can have the Comic-Con experience in three easy steps.

South Park Creator on Stick of Truth DLC: 'F**k That'

July 19, 2013 -

Speaking at a Comic-Con panel in San Diego last night (as detailed by Polygon) South Park co-creator Trey Parker had some harsh words about turning content cut from the upcoming South Park: The Stick of Truth game into future downloadable content. Parker and his partner Matt Stone were inspired by Skyrim to write 850 pages worth of material for the game. Some of that material was eventually cut.

Some suggested the material be used for future DLC.

Play NSA Leaker Edward Snowden in New Parody Game

June 27, 2013 -

A new web game called "Snowden's Leaks: The Game" (starring Edward Snowden and President Obama) lets players take the man who leaked information about the NSA's spying activities (PRISM and mobile phone data collection) for a spin as he fills up USB drives with secret data while avoiding NSA agents and security cameras using distractions like doughnuts and hiding places like behind the American flag.

Tap It: NSA Slow Jam

June 14, 2013 -

Libertarian publication Reason has a new song from resident parody prodigy Remy about the NSA's mobile phone surveillance program called "Tap It: The NSA Slow Jam." The song makes fun of the NSA's PRISM program and its practice of collecting Americans' mobile phone meta-data that was leaked by former NSA contractor Edward Snowden.

The best line in the song, in my opinion:

"Text yourself about it, let us know how you feel."

You can find the lyrics here.

Edward Snowden - Deleted Scenes of NSA Security Video Interview

June 14, 2013 -

While America debates whether former NSA contractor Edward Snowden is a traitor or a hero for leaking classified information related to the NSA's alleged "PRISM" internet surveillance program or analyzing the data from Americans' mobile phones, some people are busy trying to make us laugh about the whole situation. One of those people is comedian Steve Hofstetter, who has created parody video of the "deleted scenes" from The Guardian interview with Snowden.

Lewis Black on Xbox One and Google Glass

June 13, 2013 -

In the latest edition of "Back in Black" on Comedy Central's The Daily Show, comedian Lewis Black offers his unique perspective on the latest technology including Xbox One, Google Glass, Kinect and even a robot that can tell when you want it to serve you a beer. Black criticizes Google for blocking porn on Google Glass and gives Microsoft a one finger salute for how much Kinect tracks you when you are using it.

It's certainly a harsher take on the technology than we're used to, but comedy is sometimes a contact sport.

Andrew Eisen Video: Interactive Fish

Sony Bringing Public Restroom Management Game to PS Vita

May 21, 2013 -

Sony has released a trailer for a new PS Vita game that lets you be a men's room attendant called "Men's Room Mayhem." In the game - coming to the PS Vita "soon" - players direct patrons to stalls and urinals, keep the men's room sparkling clean, break up fights that might occur, and deal with other situations that apparently crop up in public bathrooms all over the world. The game avoids some of the other more unseemly things that happens in public restrooms, thankfully.

Drones! What are they good for?

February 27, 2013 -

This amusing video takes something Fox News contributor Charles Krauthammer said on Fox News about a year ago related to the government's use of drones for domestic surveillance within the borders of the United States by showing him how it could be done in Call of Duty: Black Ops II. The video is the product of the fine folks at Coffee with Games (which incidentally are two of my favorite things).

Montetrolls are just at their absolute worst when it comes to women and feminist. You could bet good money that if the developer were male the trolls would be silent and the conversation would actually focus on the journalism.10/18/2014 - 9:18pm
MontePapa: Not the first time we've had a journalism scandals before, but the harassment never got close to this level; the difference with this scandal is that feminists are involved. Without the feminist angle, their would be A LOT less harrassment10/18/2014 - 9:15pm
Papa MidnightMonte: That's honestly rather short-sighted. As has been proven with other persons who have been targeted, if it wasn't Quinn, it would be someone else.10/18/2014 - 6:26pm
AvalongodI think that's part of what gives an esoteric news story like this real life...it taps into a larger narrative about misogyny in society outside of games.10/18/2014 - 3:29pm
Avalongod@Monte, well the trolls made death threats that came to police (and media attention). I think this is tapping into a larger issue outside of games about how women are treated in society (like all the "real rape" stuff during the last election)10/18/2014 - 3:28pm
WonderkarpZippy : Havent tried the PS4 controller. might later.10/18/2014 - 2:37pm
MonteSeirously, If Quinn was not involved and GG was instead about something like the Mordor Marketing contracts, the trolling would have never grown so vile and disgusting. There have been plenty of movements in the past that never sufferred from behavior..10/18/2014 - 1:57pm
MonteWe have seen scandel's before but the trolling has never been as vile as what we see with GG. Trolls usually have such a tiny voice you can barely notice them, but its like moths to a flame whenever femistist are involved.10/18/2014 - 1:53pm
ZippyDSMleeWonderkarp: You might be able to if you had a PS4 controller.10/18/2014 - 1:00pm
MaskedPixelantehttp://store.steampowered.com/app/327940/ Night Dive starts charging for freeware.10/18/2014 - 12:21pm
Matthew Wilsonthe sad thing is there are trolls on both sides of this. people need to stop acting like their side is so pure.10/18/2014 - 12:19pm
MechaTama31So, only speak out on a scandal that hasn't attracted trolls? I wouldn't hold my breath...10/18/2014 - 10:49am
MonteI feel like GG just needs to die. The movement is FAR to tainted by hatred and BS for it to be useful for any conversation. Let GG die, and then rally behind the NEXT gaming journalism scandal, and start the conversation fresh.10/18/2014 - 10:33am
quiknkoldand we dont have a Dovakin to call a cease fire10/17/2014 - 7:37pm
quiknkoldThe whole thing is Futile. Both sides are so buried deep in their trenchs that there isnt a conversation. Its just Finger Pointing, Name Calling, Doxxing, Threats. there needs to be a serious conversation, and GG isnt it.10/17/2014 - 7:37pm
quiknkoldI thought it was a good article. Jeff is right. I feel like GamerGate did destroy its message. I am for Ethics in game journalism, but man. so much hate. and its on both sides. I've seen some awful stuff spewed on twitter. Its a big reason why I exited..10/17/2014 - 7:34pm
Matthew Wilsonwhile he focused on gg, he did call out both sides crap.10/17/2014 - 7:18pm
